China Produced 324GWh of Lithium Batteries in 2021, up by 106%

Latest date show that in 2021, China’s lithium battery production hit 324GWh (up 106%), registering a output value of 600 billion RMB. The energy density of advanced ternary batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries has reached an average of 280Wh/kg and 170Wh/kg, respectively, and the battery cycle life of key enterprises has exceeded 5,000 cycles.

According to the "14th Five-Year Plan" New Energy Storage Development Implementation Plan, new energy storage will be ready for large-scale commercial applications by 2025. Meanwhile, outdoor camping also drives the explosive growth of outdoor mobile power supply.

More than 100 energy storage and outdoor power supply enterprises dressed up to attend WBE 2022. Zhang Tianren, chairman of Tianneng Group said that energy storage is an important part of the new energy system, as well as the most dynamic and promising industry in the world. WBE is also a chance to build an "international circle of friends" for energy storage industry.

China Relaxes Border Control, Lifting Quarantine Requirements

Starting on Jan. 8th, inbound travelers only need to show a 48-hour negative nucleic acid test result before boarding their flight to China. Health code, quarantine and covid tests are no longer required. Visas for foreigners will be made more accessible with international flights steadily increasing. The customs forecasts that the number of inbound and outbound trips will recover significantly in 2023.

Review of WBE 2022

WBE 2022 closed its doors on Aug. 11, 2022 after three splendid days of display on batteries (cells and packs), energy storage, BMS, battery materials, battery manufacturing equipment, etc. The area of expo grew by 37.5% over the previous year to 55,000 sq.m with 673 exhibitors spread across and a total of 47,856 visits were registered. Over 3 hundred exhibitors re-booked for 2023 right off the show.
